Janeen's childhood loves included reading, listening to stories or jokes, lying beneath a tree and gazing up at the sky, being near the sea, and making things.

She still loves nature, creating art and craft objects and reading. But there's writing as well!

Janeen has over 60 books published, many of which have won awards and many have been translated into other languages.

She has also written over 100 poems, plays, stories and articles for children's magazines in Australia and USA . They include the School Magazine, Victorian Education Department (Comet, Explore, Challenge) Ladybird and Ladybug. Her poetry has been included in 15 anthologies.

Janeen's careers included teaching, acting, being a presenter, and doing voice-overs for television and video documentaries. Janeen has been writing for over 17 years.

Janeen and her partner Jon live at Glenelg in South Australia, near the sea. Their daughters Natalie and Cassie are grown up.
