Libby Gleeson is a popular and highly acclaimed writer of picture books and longer fiction for young people.

Eleanor, Elizabeth ; I Am Susannah; Dodger; Love Me, Love Me Not; and Refuge are titles written for young teenagers. The Hannah series: Skating on Sand; Hannah Plus One; and Hannah and the Tomorrow Room are award-winning junior fiction titles. The Queen of the Universe is published by Omnibus in the Solo imprint.

Libby's picture books published by Scholastic and Omnibus are Big Dog; Where's Mum?; Mum Goes to Work; Sleeptime; Uncle David; The Princess and the Perfect Dish; and The Great Bear . Libby has been short-listed for the CBCA awards twelve times and won the award for fiction for younger readers in 1997 with Hannah and the Tomorrow Room . The Great Bear won the Bologna Ragazzi in 2000, the first time an Australian title has won this prestigious award. Libby recently won the 2007 CBCA award for Amy and Louis in the Early Childhood category.

Libby has been a teacher and lecturer and is a regular contributor to academic courses in Sydney and national conferences. She is actively involved in writers' organisations and chaired the Australian Society of Authors, 1999-2001.
