Sherryl Clark

Sherryl Clark has worked as a writer in the community for many years. She currently teaches in the diploma of arts (Professional Writing & Editing) course at Victoria University and Holmesglen TAFE.

Her children’s books include The Too-Tight Tutu (Penguin), Mathew Madigan and the Motor-Mouths (Macmillan) and Which Dog? (Nelson ITP).

A member of Western Women Writers for over seventeen years, she was instrumental in setting up Australia’s only magazine for women poets, Poetrix, of which she is co-editor.

Sherryl’s poems have been widely published in a number of journals and magazines, anthologies and on the Internet. Pariah Press published her firs collection of poetry, Edge, in 1999 and her second collection, Thicker Than Water, in 1999. Her short fiction has been published in magazines and has won several major awards.

In 1997, Hale & Iremonger published her hands-on, how-to book, Successful Self-Publishing: Making and Selling Your Own Book. This guide was the culmination of six years of teaching other people how to produce their own books, and assisting with over 100 publishing projects.

Sherryl lives in Melbourne with her husband, two cats and four chooks, and has one grown-up daughter.
