I was born in Adelaide, the second of three children. I discovered art when in kindergarten. The teacher drew a picture in pastels and I thought it was amazing. When I was eight we moved to Brisbane. I used to draw pictures on large sheets of paper and stick them on the kitchen walls. After high school, I attended classes in a Diploma of Art course. Later I went to Europe for three years and visited as many art galleries and museums as I could. I saw many ‘old masters’ first hand, and learned all I could from them.

On my return, I started painting and selling pictures. I have done it for a number of years now, and have won prizes and had exhibitions of my work.

Cowtime! is my first book to be published. I started Cowtime! many years ago, and it was a long time before I got the right words and pictures to fit together. Then it took me six months to design the book and another six months to paint it. I paint with acrylics on illustration board, and then add extra colour with coloured pencils.

As my art takes a long time to do, I cannot work at it full time. I spend most of my time helping to look after war veterans and Armed Forces Personnel – those special people who protect us and preserve our freedoms (like the freedom to choose what books we want to read).
