I was born in South Australia and have lived most of my life in a pretty little place called Summertown.
My early years of education were a mixture of non-illustrative detours and misguided adolescent vows to never ‘study' art. Eventually, the advice of a friend coerced me to reconsider, and I enrolled in Visual Communications at the University of South Australia . I subsequently uncovered a wonderful range of people and possibilities in the world of graphic design and illustration.
I was introduced to the world of children's literature by an amazing consequence of winning 3rd place in the Scholastic National Illustrators Competition in 2005 for my illustrations for Columbia Sneezes. Children's literature has now become a great passion for me. I am intrigued by the process of illustration, the exploration of character and story, and the long meandering journey between conception and completion.
My time spent on Columbia Sneezes has fuelled my interest in creating interesting, quirky and humorous characters that reflect both me and my views of the world.
Although sometime I feel old, I am actually very young. I hope to be involved with children's book for a long, long time.
