Partnership in Reading Program
A Partnership in Reading
Everyone wins with the Partnership in Reading program — your school, students and community.
It's a great way for local businesses to partner with your school to provide books that will encourage learning and reading to children. |
 |
How It Works:
Contact your school's Book Fair Chairperson to find out which books have been selected for the Partnership in Reading program.
Then, invite your employer or local businesses you frequent to become a sponsor. You'll be surprised at how many places you frequent on a regular basis: grocery stores, banks, hair salons, coffee shops, pizzerias etc. Don't be shy — most businesses would love to promote literacy and help kids in some way and often do not know how to become involved. Share a brief description of the selected book(s) and ask for book donations.
Don't Have Much Time?
You can participate yourself by sponsoring at the student or classroom level.
Volunteer Opportunity
You can help your Book Fair Chairperson by co-ordinating the Partnership in Reading program. Contact your Chairperson and visit our Chairperson's site to get step-by-step instructions on how to contact potential sponsors and promote the program in your community.
However you decide to participate, you can feel good knowing your involvement is helping students in your community become lifelong learners.
