National Prize Winner and NSW Finalist – Thomas (11)

Although he kept me awake at night, addiction to Spider-Man felt right. Quilt overhead, torch indeed, his web pulled me in, I can read!
Thomas has won the ultimate Apple home system including a Mac Book Air, iPad2, the latest iPod — worth over $2000 in total! — and a super Scholastic Kids’ library valued at over $500. PLUS his school will receive $5,000 worth of supplies from Scholastic and an iPad2!

VIC Finalist – Saskia (8)

My reading superhero is ME! Some say I’m readiculous, but if you want to become a LEADER you’d better be a good READER!

ACT Finalist – Jacob (6)

The world’s greatest reading super hero is my teacher Mr Heffernan because he can make any book interesting and fun, even books about grass!

SA Finalist – Jared (11)

I have Irlens Dyslexia. The hero in me has to remind me I can do it and beat the monster who says ‘just give up’.

NT Finalist – Chloe (9)

Mrs Flitton is my reading super hero. She is always checking if we’ve been reading, like a beautiful butterfly flittering around, encouraging us to read.

WA Finalist – Jordan (7)

My best friend Jimmy is my reading super hero. We share different types of books and love to talk about them and sometimes even make the stories come alive in the playground.

TAS Finalist – Harriet (10)

My reading super hero is our librarian, because she actually inspired me to write my own story.

QLD Finalist – Tom (8)

Mum is my reading super hero. Secret Weapon For Inspiration — silly voices, library card. Arch Enemies - tricky words, DS games. Favourite saying, 'Use your imagination!'
