Chapman Primary School ACT - Our whole school once again participated in this year's ClassroomsCare project with much enthusiasm and dedication. We all enjoyed reading books so others could have the same opportunity. We valued the generosity shown to our community during the Canberra bush fires many years ago and are always happy to contribute to help and support other children in need. We hope that these children enjoy reading their new books as much as we enjoyed reading for them. Our thanks go to Scholastic for creating such a wonderful opportunity for us to participate in.

Preps from Columba Catholic Primary School in Bunyip, Victoria.

Students at Central Mangrove Public School read over 100 books together during afternoon sessions led by the Student Representative Council as a community service to assist Scholastic and it's partners to donate a box of books to a charity group. The SRC selected this activity as one of the many charity options to participate in during 2010. We are a small school in a rural area and value assistance from community groups. ClassroomsCare has given us the opportunity to provide for other groups in need while we learn, enjoy and share with books.

Year 3 students from Doubleview Primary School in Western Australia have finally read their 100th book! They have loved reading all kinds of interesting books; jokes, stories, facts, cooking and craft. They are excited that other children are going to receive books because they read 100 books.

The children in KP (kindergarten) at Ellison Public School Springwood NSW, have read 100 books. Every day in Term 2, 2010 during silent reading time, four children each read a book to the teacher and then coloured-in a letter on the ClassroomsCare chart. We were all very excited when we reached 100 books.

We hope that the children who receive the donated books will enjoy reading as much as we do.

Room 22 - Year 3 Forest Crescent Primary School has had a reading adventure as we have worked our way through 100 books this term. We discovered we could read anytime, anywhere, for pleasure or information. We read alone, with a friend and in small groups. We shared the books we love with each other and learnt new and exciting information along the way. Knowing we were helping to give books to children in need gave us encouragement to reach the target!

Our Year 3 class at Forest Crescent Primary School have achieved the challenge of reading 100 books. We enjoyed reading a wide variety of books, sometimes taking advantage of fine days to read outside in the fresh air. We started recommending books to each other and some of us even discovered a new favourite author or book series. It has been a worthwhile and challenging experience.

KE at Holy Spirit Primary School have been bringing in books for the teacher to read from their own home library. Every day Miss Elliott reads a couple of the books, and the children who brought them in were able to colour the letter. This was a wonderful way to share Miss Elliott's love of stories with her KE class.

KT's response to this program has been amazing. They have already coloured 7 charts and have nearly finished their eighth by the end of July. The whole class has just loved counting how many books they can read and then colour in the letters on the poster. A great effort from KT!

4A coloured two posters for the Scholastic ClassroomsCare Program.  It was great for 4A to see the letters and the words of the posters being coloured in as the books were being read. 4A loved the opportunity to show what great and competent readers they are.

KF from St. John Vianney's Doonside just loved completing this challenge. They loved it because the whole class just loves reading. Many of the children used the books they borrowed from the school library to help achieve the 100 books needed to complete the colouring of the poster.
Well done KF!

Both Year 5 classes enjoyed knowing their reading was helping others in the community. Year 5 at St. John Vianney's are great readers and borrow a great number of books all year round. This challenge was a nice opportunity to show the community how much Year 5 value and love reading.

This is part of our Mindful Matters program, where each class adopts a community project to help others. Our class has 19 students who are all new receptions. We read the books in class and in shared reading with the year 6/7 students. We were very excited to finish and we all listened as we rang up to share our achievement. We hope others enjoy books as much as we do. Thank you to Scholastic for your kind donation.

This is the 5th year Wyalkatcham District School have participated in the ClassroomsCare program. The Year 5's have done it every year since they were in year 1! This year we had planned to ask a different class if they would like to do it but before we did the year 5's asked if they would be doing it again this year and we're not going to discourage them from reading!

The year six children in Mrs Chennell’s class at High Wycombe Primary School in Perth are very happy to have read 100 books for charity.
