We are prep children from Ranfurly Primary School in Mildura. Thank you for giving us the chance to help other children in need of books. We enjoyed colouring and counting every time we read a new book and were very excited when we finally reached the end. Every week we would count how many more books we needed to read. It took us all year but we are so proud that we made it and that we could help other children.

We are year 5/6 at Snowy Mountains Christian School in Cooma. We have finished reading one hundred books and we think its cool that for every book we read a new book is sent to kids who don't have many. Thanks Scholastic Books.

My name is Chris Ruwoldt and I am the class teacher of one of the Year 4 classes at Redeemer Lutheran School, Nuriootpa SA. My 20 students are always on the look out for ways to help others less fortunate then us. They took up the challenge and really enjoyed reading books to fill up our classroom chart. Our thoughts and prayers go with the books donated on our behalf. May they bring hours of fun and enjoyment to those who receive them. |

A great idea Scholastic, we will certainly take part again next year.

Steven & class 3S at Mortdale Primary

Steven Mead: "As a teacher, I am always looking for ways to motivate my students to read. This year I have a very motivated group of readers in my Year 3 class, who all quickly completed the other reading projects offered to them. When I heard about the ClassroomsCare program it sounded great to me, but there is no point embarking on such a challenge if it does not have the support of the children to be involved. When I outlined the project, I was overwhelmed by their enthusiasm. At first they could not believe that someone would donate 100 books to a charity on their behalf and all they had to do was read!
|
| When they realised that children less fortunate than themselves were going to benefit from something they enjoyed so much, there was no stopping them. Once the project was completed the students were extremely proud of themselves. They had developed teamwork skills and achieved a goal as part of this team. Congratulations, Scholastic, on a fantastic initiative. I hope the kids who benefit from the donated books enjoy reading them as much as 3S at Mortdale PS enjoyed reading their 100 books for ClassroomsCare." |
