Poster Competition

Book Club is publishing a series of posters on Issue 8 called Our World is One World, and YOUR class could be the designers! It's easy-just design a classroom poster that captures the themes of diversity, understanding and community and send it in to reach us by 25 August. Make sure it includes the words Our World is One World as a banner.

Tips:

The objective of the One World program is to help teach students fundamentals in diversity, respect for others, and building communities and to develop skills which promote empathy, dialogue, and respect for diverse opinions.

  • Discuss the themes with the students in your class and together identify what they think are the most pertinent issues facing e.g. Bullying, Respecting Others, Our Community
  • Challenge them to think about ways to communicate positive messages on these themes via a poster: e.g. what do other students in our school need to hear or do to promote empathy, dialogue and respect for diversity?
  • Remember, even if you don't win the competition, you may decide your poster would be great to display in your classroom, or even around the school!

Prize Details:

In addition to the Club Prize (detailed below), the poster considered the best of the best will also win a Supaskills session at their school with Australian-born Liverpool soccer legend and FA Cup-winning superstar Craig Johnston and current Australian Women's team soccer captain, Cheryl Salisbury!
