Comprehension Strategies

Before using Connectors it is important that students are familiar with the comprehension strategies used and are able to apply them as they read.

In the Connectors Teacher Resource Book, there are recommendations for how to:

• introduce or strengthen students’ understanding and application of the comprehension strategies
  • predicting
  • clarifying
  • questioning
  • summarising
  • making connections
  • visualising
  • expressing opinions
  • making inferences (Series 2).
