The Stedman Sisters
Shannan and Tayla Stedman are 27 and 26-year-old sisters and co-authors from Sydney, Australia. They know each other’s every thought, finish each other’s sentences and personally believe that someone made a mistake on their birth certificates, because they definitely should have been born twins.
The Stedman Sisters are a pair of tea-guzzling, daydreamers with glitter in their souls and a passion for creativity. They adore – okay fine, are obsessed with - their three dogs Mya, Harlow and Bambi, bake endless batches of cookies, binge-watch TV shows like they’re going out of style and inhale chocolate like it’s air… what? For six years they ran their children’s entertainment company, Happily Ever Laughter. Mostly so they could bring joy and magic to children… but partly so they could spend their weekends dressed as fairies and princesses. Did someone say free cake? Their company was a finalist in the best party entertainment category at the 2017 What’s on For Kids Awards Australia. The Stedman Sisters are trained face painters, can twist a pretty cool balloon dog and are hardcore Disney fanatics. (Fun fact: Rapunzel is their all-time favourite princess!)
Shannan and Tayla ran their business while also studying writing at The University of Technology, Sydney (yes, both of them… they really are like the same person.) They love reading and watching all things, magical, whimsical, comical and absolutely nonsensical, and have always dreamed of channelling the same creativity into their own writing. The Stedman Sisters enjoy creating unique and loveable characters, just like Lola, that inspire kids to dream big, because where’s the fun in dreaming small?
